View Full Version : I'm gonna be a working girl!!
NO, not that kind! :nono: I have accepted my first job out of school. It took me just under 2 months to do. I read somewhere that it takes an average of 6 months to find a job in one's field after graduation. I will be a mental health support specialist, tell me that isn't a mouth full. I am now in a race to get DRS to help me convert a new (to me) van and find an accessible apartment closer to work. I am going to stay at my parents for a month or two so I can save some money. I also have to contact the right people in the SS chain and see how long my trial period is for SSI and Medicaid lasts. Lots to do in the next two weeks, job starts July 9th.
Oh yeah, someone will find it funny, I can were pretty much what ever I want to work, even my beloved jeans!!!!!
Congratulations Aly! :mega:

Apply to the Ticket to Work program. It will allow you to earn and keep more for longer than the traditional SS to work route.
Best of luck, you go girl!
