Pretty much from day one after the wreck, my wrists have not been the best. I haven't had too much problems with them but I don't have the greatest range of motion in them. My left is worse but that's the side that was paralyzed etc. so it makes sense. Now at almost 13 years in, my wrists are giving me shit. I think I pinched a nerve or something cause for the past week or so, the tops of my hands, my arm bones and wrists have been hurting. For a day it was top of hands, then the bones for a few days and now it's maily my wrists. I don't know what to do at this point, arthritis scares me..........HELP!!!! Lex

It could very well be Carpal Tunnel. This can occur with any overused repetitive motion of the wrists. I assume by all we do with ours can put a strain on them. I know I've gotten pains in wrists because of this.

Hi Bird3ts,
It would help if you filled out your profile.
Is the pain in the hand or wrist that you use your mouse with? I think it was that which caused me severe pain in my right wrist for awhile. I thought it was carpal tunnel syndrome like Todd suggested but as fast as it came it went.... thankfully the worst of the pain only lasted a few days. It hurt really bad... like a severe deep bone pain. Almost screaming pain. It was a type of pain that I never experienced before and hopefully never will again. It's never come back and I use my mouse just as much now as I did then. Strange.
Bob.

Joint pain is a symptom of thyroid problems. Since those with immobility are more prone to metabolic illnesses ...
Of course I could be way off base here. Might be worth looking into though.
(That's how mine started at 24yrs - my wrists actually visibly swelled).

Ditto to lynnifer. I'm tracking my thyroid by wrist pain these days. When it's low my forearms feel like they've been beat w/ a hammer. And if you've also been feeling sluggish and gaining weight, those are more signs. Ask your doc to check. With any luck it's an easy fix, just take a pill or 2 a day.
i dout CT in both hands at same time. sounds more like arthritis. i'm sure the nurse give ya some ideas. when i was about 2 1/2 months after injury , the tips of all my fingers , from about an inch up were going numb. i ask the SCI doc about it. he said i have CT. both hands at the same time , moron. after about a week or so it went away.

Lexi,
It would be good to get some labwork done and have an examination by a doctor. Regardless of what it may be, you need to be evaluated. Get in touch with me later.

Thought about you last night Lex, had a low thyroid event. Freezing, shivering, crying and my arms felt like they were broken. Ugghhhhhhhh. I don't see how it can be low, my bony arms look terrible, but low it is. Make sure the doc checks it out!

Running - the hottest water I could stand - over my wrists sometimes helps - even though David will stand at the door and talk about utilities costs ... whereupon I tell him where to go ... but I digress ... lol ...

Could also be a ganglion cyst since we have such boney arms it takes an MRI to find them. I had mine aspirated and no more pain.

My arms have been tons better. The pain in my arm bones just went away but my wrists still hurt a lil, nothing like at first though and my freaking hands keep falling asleep. I know I know, I need to go in and get it checked out but I've been gone for a bit. Thanks for all your support, Lex
