I'm C-5, further limited by shoulder blade pain and problems. I can still manage a desktop keyboard and Expert Mouse if I limit my typing. I have a question re laptops - could I handle one? The keys are small and close together, and how would I use the mouse pad? Are other C-5s managing, and, if so, how?

I'm c5 but with decent wrist extensors, and use one fairly easy.

Keyboards are smaller and harder to type. I have an HP with wide screen and the keys are almost normal size, and way bigger than my dell.
Also the touch pad is flush with the deck so its easy to use my pinky knuckle to slide around. The dell was inset and found i couldn't get full use of the pad.

If i might.. why are you wanting a laptop?... Could help tailor the answers.

I'm a C4 C5 incomplete with very little wrist extensors, the only thing I've used from day one of being injured has been a laptop. Aside from typing relatively slowly, I haven't had any problems. Come to think of it, I probably wouldn't use a desktop nearly as much as my laptop.
Just my two cents!

You can use a wireless mouse instead of the mouse pad. I'm para, but the mouse pad has always been a pain in the butt to me, so I use a wireless mouse with my laptop.

I figure I can use a laptop when I'm in bed. I could network it with my desktop machine.

Will a wireless mouse work with a laptop?
Need anything special?

Nope, at least you don't need anything special on mine. Just plug the little receiver into one of the USB ports, and you should be good to go.
