Now that showering is no longer the occasion for leisurely rumination it once was, those flashes of brilliance and insight sprinkled among the to do lists are happening en route to sleep and after waking, when I seem to produce only illegible scribbles. Can anyone recommend a good small digital recorder so I don’t keep losing the ideal title for my book and the perfect retort to the last man to break my heart?

Do they make such a thing with USB and if so might I be able to plug it in and have a voice recognition program transcribe from it? I know I’m not normal, but it would make life so much more efficient.

Hi Singin' - I just purchased an Olympus digital voice recorder for my job. I did some research and Olympus seems to be the leader in this area.

You can go to their website to compare features. They have a wide variety of features and price ranges. You can purchase there too, but I found the best prices to be on Amazon.

I won't be using voice recognition, but I'm pretty sure that's a possibility.

Check it out.

I have a Sony Voice recorder. It then transcribes my voice into text with Dragon Naturaly Speaking voice recogntion via usb or memory stick. BVR helped me to purchase this a while back.
