When I play a vidio, what would make it stop and play stop and play? Also, how can I watch a vidio with Windows Media Player?

So you got the flashplayer fixed, huh.

Well, few things could be issue with the video continuity: Internet connection type, Processor speed, and Ram (one or combination). What connection you use, and do you know your specs? Even if you have fast connection and processor, your ram might not be too much and can easily fill capacity if running too much at once, while you're trying to run video.

Check these basic things out. If still having trouble, others can give you more technical info, if you provide more details regarding your issues.

RE Windows media player - you have it, right? If you do, make sure preferences are set to play it, not automatically use another player you might have. If you want it as your default, enable it.

I would thing that you can wait a few moments for it to load and play it back once loaded. It should run smoot then.

To do that, press the pause key. When the progress line shows that the video is almost fully loaded, press play.

Chic, I have no idea how to check all of that. I'm a dummy but I have come a lot father than I was. LOL Yep I did get flash and ShockWave, finally. I have deleted progams because that's what I thought I was suppose to do because I didn't know how to find the programs to uninstall them. But I thought that was all I had to do. Now I understand I have stuff that I need to uninstall that I have deleted.I don't know where to look.

Yep, I'm on dial-up but it's what I have had for years. The play and pause thing don't work. It might be the speed of dial up. It's so nice to have this place to come to. Thank you.

Its your dialup thats causing it. It's also why your pause doesn't work.

Try just clicking it once and wait. Dailup isn't spontanious so might take a sec to kick in.

However, If you just leave the video as it chops i way along, it will d/l and then you can re-watch it smoothly.

If someone could explain to me where I go in to look at where everything I have downloaded is, I can see what I have in there. Explain how I can get rid of some of the stuff I have removed from my control panel but is still in there. I have removed games that are probably still there.
Mary
my dial up sucks because it only runs at a speed of 45.2 kbps. Crap can't afford DSL.

You are doing it right then...just making sure. I removed the icons when I first got my computer.... so much to learn...

It sounds like you are doing it (uninstalling) right , from add/remove programs in control panel.
If you want to get rid of old games and stuff, there are two ways: 1) check "add or remove programs" first to see if the unwanted program is listed, if it is, click on "remove" ... then go to your "programs folder" (My Computer -> Local Disk (C:) -> Program Files) look in there for the program you uninstalled and delete it . That will get rid of leftover crap.
2) get CCleaner (as I suggested in your other thread) click on "tools" tab, it will show all programs installed on your PC , click on the program you want to uninstall ... then click "run uninstaller" ... then click on "issues" tab ... scan for issues ... this will clean up unused bits and registries left behind . You can also delete any leftover folders in your "program files" , just make sure you uninstall before you delete.
if you have deleted programs without uninstalling first , the uninstaller wont work. so you need to ,either, reinstall the program... then uninstall. or "restore your computer to an earlier date" to before you deleted the program . but if you only deleted the icon, there's nothing to worry about.

Lastly (Boy I'm saying a lot) Dialup is really slow and can take an hour to load a 3 minute You Tube video, so be patient, Once the video begins to play, click the pause ... it will continue loading even though it isn't playing. then go watch a movie or something and check back in an hour.

If you get some extra money someday , you can get a "V.92 Modem" and you should be able to increase you speed to 56 Kbps, it's not a big improvement but a little better than 45 kbps.

I've got it all figured out now thanks to all of you. Yes I have to wait for the vidio to load up completely because of the speed I have on dial up. It runs at 45.2 Khps. I finally got everything doadloaded.
