That darn Flash Player. I have tried everything. I deleted Flash/ Shockwave from my puter. Now it won't let me download it without installing Active X. I tried to download WWW.ccleaner.com and it takes me to where I have to buy it for 29.95$. I don't know why I am having issues.
All I want to do is be able to watch stuff on You Tube.
I know this is redundant but does anyone have anymore ideas? I guess if I went to a site to where it says I need Flash Player I wonder if it would install it then.

You really need active X, Its like trying to look at pictures without having a picture viewer.
Its free: http://www.ccleaner.com/download/
Although this software is free please donate to help support the software and site costs.
Everyone who donates $20 / £10 / €20 or more will be emailed all new releases before they're available to download on the site.
active x is not harmful most of the times, just make sure you install stuff from websites you trust, for instance adobe.com.
I think you were confused about active x in the other thread, check this out :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ActiveX
report back after you do this.

The only reason why I suggested to download and run CCleaner is so you can get rid of the old registries from all your flashplayer ... to get a clean start and a fresh download (you need to run ISSUES scan to do that)
I'm sorry if this is confusing you more and frustrating you ... but as Maximillian said "active X is not harmful" and you DO need to install it before you can download flashplayer.
good luck

MaryYou can't just delete a program (esp. if you're using windows). You need to UNINSTALL, to make sure all components are gone.
So if you haven't already, uninstall before you re-instsll anything.

I had this problem also....
You have to uninstall your current version of flash player.
Then download the current version
http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/
Allow the active x controls.
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_19166
You cant get the flashplayer without the Active X control.
IM me if you want and I will try to help you more. I got an error message like you when I first tried to view you tube. I put the exact error message into google and I got steps to resolve my issue. As you are probably not the first to experience this...

Oh in Add/delete I thought all you had to do is delete it. I don't know how to uninstall programs any other way. I didn't know where to find them.

Yep you always have to uninstall them. If you just hit delete you are only deleting the icon.

In IE click "tools" then "manage add-ons..." Under Show choose "Add-ons that has been used by Internet Explorer." Scroll down and look for the problem program in this case Shockwave and click on it. Then click "Update Active X" and choose "ok" after you reinstall the program.
