help help my desk top just went dead....blue screen with beginning physical dump, physical dump complete
contact my system administrator
, I don't have one, LOL
I'm desperate
My Life's work is on that damn thing.......[:-crying]

what does the blue screen say?
It should say STOP followed by a hexadecimal code. Based on what that says and what was the last thing couple things you did on the computer, it'll determine the next steps.

First, continue to breathe! It is highly unlikely that you will lose the contents of your storage devices. I have had many blue screen events. Many are overcome by a simple reboot or a system restore. Never lost any saved work.
I'm a poke and hope guy. This works for me, but I suggest you stay calm and wait for the expert advice that will hopefully soon follow from our IT professionals,

Did you recently update something or install something? I had a M$ update do this.
Try to restart in safe mode, usually f8, and do sa system restore back a few days.
