Sure it could be bad. You will end up going home with the fugliest chick for 20 miles and wont remember a thing. Any doc/nurse will tell you it is bad to mix any drug with alcohol. If it stops the pain ride the train. I used to see an old school army doctor he was a hoot too! He would always tell me to take one or two of these every so often with a couple of beers. I will never forget that man god rest his soul.
I know where you are coming from about the nero pain being your enemy. It too is mine. Somtimes its like a train passing in the night and somtimes its like I am layin on the track as it is passing.

Hi Adi - I take Valium in the evenings to stop my legs kicking in bed, I wash the tablets down with beer and as you probably guessed I am still in the land of the living.

be careful! Karen Ann Quinlan was from the ny metro my area , she mixed Valium and alcohol. i think she died a couple years a go, she must have been in a coma for like 20 years.
shame , she was a young girl when it happened, people really didn't realise how dangerous it was back then.

how about seeing a pain management doctor? the valium may not be the best med to combat your pain, you may need others.

Advice that's hard to argue with.
I have been taking Valium for the past year. I started with a high 30 mg a day and now only 5 mg when needed.
I never washed any down with booze, although in college.......
The hard part may be finding a doctor to write the script.
I found it amazing how hard it was, in spite of proof that it helped in my case, they would avoid the subject like poison.
But they had no problems with any of the codeine's, fentanyl etal, amazing.
Of course if I was the conspiracy type I would say that there are no "Free Lunches" for writing scrips for Valium/Diazapan.
Or maybe it's because of the over use of "Mothers Little Helper" in the 60's ;)

.
I also take Valium (when needed) for pain. I don't think your doctor would approve of mixing Valium and alcohol. I think it would have to be one or the other but not both. Although I haven't tried this (maybe I will) the alcohol itself may be enough to kill the pain. You really should discuss this with your doctor before taking action.

i had neurontin and vicodin when i first came out of rehab, managed the pain so/so but i would sit and stare at the dust in the sunlight all day. I fired down a bunch of beer one night and broke out in a cold sweat and when i went to bed it felt like i was floating 2 feet above the bed. i dropped the pills and switched to vodka/cranberry. it's cheaper and UTI friendly

Considering that valium is a muscle relaxer, your best bet to kill the pain might be...oh, I don't know...say...a Painkiller.Go to a pain management doc and have your pain tamed if not killed!

Adi I do not recomend that you mix pill and booze 2 + 2 = 6. I am not one to talk because I do take 40mgs of Valium at once and drink a bottle of wine evrey day of my life it is Fantastic! The problem is you will pass out after you eat, fall out of you chair and the Fire Department will come and wake you up. It has happened to me. My pulse was fine I was sleeping good but other people will worry about you hurting yourself. You will also loose your memory for example: What did I eat last night? Beer + Valium not much problem but what about Vodka and Valium? I'm a total asshole. My life is over dude I am 20 years post but you have a lot ahead of you so if you have a doctor try other stuff like lifting some weights, getting out of the house and moving around still helps me with pain. When I just lay around home I hurt worse than if I went to work. Smoke some weed it is good.

I follow the warning label about being careful when mixing the two. Normally if I'm drinking I don't need valuim. If I take valium and later have a glass of wine or two with dinner I don't worry about it.
I think Karen Quilan was taking more valium and drinking more booze than we're talking. More along Hunker's dose and above. That's why no one who wants to die uses valuim and booze. You're more likely to wind up a vegetable than dead. Maybe skip the beer and try 5 mg of oxycodone if it's available there (and I mean real not possile fake stuff from China).

My warning says "Do not drink grapefruit juice" with valium so I call the pharmasict and he said it make it build up in your system.
