That's what I've been doing , today my DR. gave me my other cortisone shot in my right knee so it's now time to go sit in front of a heater watch a movie and do some leg exersies and drink a cup of hot chocolate and a bowl of soup for supper , and see what tomorrow brings .

Meditate... seriously, it's the only thing I've learned to do to deal with it. Slow focused breathing, and thinking and feeling the best things you can imagine that take you out of your head and body. Half the time I want to cut my limb off, but then when I meditate, my body relaxes into it and lets the pain wash out instead of me focusing on it. It's still there, but I just don't 'see' it as well.
This is the Clinical Trial I partipated in at Stanford University over a year ago now. I progressively get better every month.

BTW Larry, I grew up in Hanover, NH and go back twice a year, so I know very well how that weather can eat you up. Stay strong. Live Free or Die!!!

I woke up this morning with pain in both knees and my back pain is at a 10 and I looked out the window and we got 2 inches of snow , my neighbors shoveled our walk way and plowed our driveway , and their rule is if you give them anything for doing this it will all stop , they do it for 7 houses on our street and the same rule applies , they said they enjoy doing it and that's that, what a neiborhood first all the Christmas decorating and now the snow removal , a person can't ask for a better neighborhood than this . That's nice to hear about the neighbors, Larry. Friends like that make all the difference.

Hi Larry,
First I want to thank for the music I downloaded it on my computer at work and have been burning alblums for my friend at work. It is super cool:mega: My legs get real cold there because the building has no insulation so when I sit there all day my legs are frozen. So I thought about it and I wear long johns. I put my hose thru the flyhole and stap the bag to the outside. Made a big difference plus massaging you legs does increase blood flow. I sleep on my long johns too when it gets real cold. Women love to see a Man in his long johns! You don't want to use an electric blanket because I have heard stories of then shorting out and burning people legs. I also start my truck early and let it heat up good because once your legs get cold they seem to me they don't get warm fast. Ibupropen (sp?) help bone pain for me and the Valium I take does nothing when my bones hurt.
Stay warm,
Matt

i LIVE in my long johns from around oct-nov thru til the time the tulips come up in the spring.i was always a freeze baby but since the sci happened this is seriously affecting my ability to even move without haveing horrid spasms in both my legs.this is really insane.the temps here have been way under zero now for the past week or so,this morning was supposed to be around -18 with the old windchills to -40.i have never had to deal with the normal MN winter temps since this happened to me in 03.we have just been having a honeymoon here with way above normal tempsfor the past few winters.now we are getting payback, big time, and i am absolutely miserable and have been in hibernation since thursday.even letting our dog out, which i just have to step put of the house and put her chain on,causes my spasticity to just shoot thru the roof.my valium wont even help with this either.both legs tightened up last week and have been this way ever since.they just wont let go.i spend alot of time in front of the heater and will not go outside to go anywhere til this drops back up to a more tolerable temp.for the first time ever,my legs started actually going into spasm while driving to the corner drug store last thursday.scared the crap outta me.usually i have a good fifteen minutes before this will happen to me,but as long as i can dissapate that built up energy within around fifteen minutes by stretching or walking and massaging,i am normally okay.this was horrible.no driving for me till this cold snap is over.god this just sucks.i feel like a caged animal or something.i do know how you feel larry.at least you are not alone here.
i gotta go put on another layer now, stay warm,or as warm as you can considering, marcia
