Referrals for neuro doc & physiatrist in New Mexico

Hi everyone,

I live in New Mexico and have been advised to see a physiatrist. Our insurance coverage will be changing beginning on January 1st. I have compiled a list of the physiatrists in the area who are covered on by our new insurance, and I'd like to know if anyone from the forum can recommend a physiatrist in the Albuquerque area, who may be on my list.

Also, I need to choose a new neurologist. Can anyone recommend a neurologist in the Albuquerque area who really knows about SCI?

I'd appreciate any recommendations anyone can give. Thanks.

The only neurologist I know in that area is this one:

He has done a lot of SCI work in the past. I don't know him well. He should be able to refer you to an appropriate physiatrist too. You should ask any potential physiatrist (or neurologist) if they are "sub-boarded" in Spinal Cord Medicine as well as their primary specialty.
