I have been using Dragon NaturallySpeaking 9 for a few weeks down and am extremely pleased, the accuracy is far superior than 7.3, my last version. However, there is one very annoying trait that keeps happening. Every now and then, Dragons seems to lock up. If I wait a few minutes, it seems to clear itself but occasionally I have to reboot the computer. Anybody else had this experience?

I have been using 9 Pro since the beginning of September. Dragon is a system resource hog and I frequently have problems with it locking up when I have too many things open. I am planning a laptop upgrade very soon, so for now I just keep minimal processes open when Dragon is running and the lock ups have stopped. Of course this is system dependent, so I don't know if the root of the problem you are having is the same as mine.

I am not experiencing this problem but I have read in other forum's that some Dragon NaturallySpeaking 9.0 users are experiencing, freezing or lockup problems. I think you may have to wait for Nuance to release an update for this issue and also for DNS 9.0 to work with Internet Explorer 7.0 and Windows Vista.
Dragon NaturallySpeaking 9 locks up or freezes in a noisy environment
"Products: Dragon NaturallySpeaking 9
Problem:
When dictating into Dragon NaturallySpeaking 9, Dragon NaturallySpeaking may lock up and become inactive.
Note: The only way to get out of this state is to End Process on natspeak.exe in the Task Manager.
Cause:
This may be caused by Dragon NaturallySpeaking trying to process a long utterance and can be reproduced by:
* Attempting to dictate in a noisy environment.
* Leaving the microphone on while away from the machine.
Solution
1. Click here to download the DNS9Aupdate.exe and save the file to the desktop"
