View Full Version : IE7 download available
IE 7 Download (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/default.mspx)
I like it. I like the webpage font and most of the new features...am I late to the game? I thought the final version didn't come out until yesterday or today, but I may be wrong.
They finally have tab browsing and phising alerts, etc.
I loaded it last night, seems ok to me, maybe a bit quicker even. Not too keen on where the back button is, I'm used to it not being all the way in the top corner. That zoom feature is a great idea, I run a 1920x1200 LCD so some sites are quite small if the font is locked, that should help quite a bit.
Yeah, it seems faster Andy. I spent quite a long time trying to find the damn refresh button:o Like the tab browsing and the extra room for viewing.

Apple's Safari has had tab browsing for years. :P But what's a phising alert?
Is it true Microsoft isn't going to make any new versions of Explorer for the Mac?

Foxfire is the only way to go imo.
Faster that IE and you can customize the look. Not to mention it has had tab browsing for awhile.
I'm burned out of FireFox, been using it for years.
Scorp, supposedly IE7 can check to see if a website is suspicious, if it's phishing, i.e. pretending to be a legitimate website, when it's really trying to get you to enter personal info.

If you can't figure out if it's a legitimate website on your own you probably don't care what web-browser you are using. I don't trust MS to determine stuff like that.

MS is going to push the new IE through AutomaticUpdates, so if you don't want it and have AutoUpdate enabled, be sure to catch it.

Well, tell you what Jeepin. I'll take any extra support I can get to protect my info, and I do care what browser I'm using....as I said, I've used FF and others in the past, but I'm burned out on them.
I have to use browsers off and on all day working, to check out my DB's interface and such, and using the same one gets old after awhile.

Yeah, I like it too :applaud:

Phishing sites are made to look legit or identical to the official website it is impersonating. How phishing works is you get an email from a bank, paypal, and ebay and such sites. The email claims your account is in jeoperdy and you must login to your account to varify your account is good. When you click the provided link it looks exactly like the official site of which ever company except it is fake and only wants your username and password to get into your account and get personal information such as credit card numbers, bank account numbers, social security numbers etc that is contained in your personal settings. It has nothing to do with figureing out if it is legit or not it looks legit which is why it works and is still working. A broweser that can double check a sites credability is a good thing and should be a part of any broweser.
Found something annoying with IE7, if you have multiple windows open and you hit home or refresh to get the page fresh and quickly move to another application, when IE is done completing the task it pops up as the viewed window instead of staying in the background.

i tried the beta back when it first came out. it may be better now but it seemed really slower to me. i may give it try just outta boredom but i really don't like IE. too many holes an flaws. as far as speed an security i'll stick with firefox.

I don't trust Microsoft for nothing. Opera is my choice.

Well I thought to myself after testing out the beta version that I was not going to get it. But for some reason I changed my mind. It really messes up since I use voice recognition. I would say click close for the Internet browser and it would freeze up. I also cannot say maximize and so on. So damn!
I had downloaded an earlier version awhile back and was pleasantly surprised at the improvements that have been made to the present version. It appears a bit faster then IE6, and the format arrangement is a little different but can be customized to look similiar to IE6. I really like the zoom feature in the page section as sometimes an HTML type is smaller then I can read easily and this really helps. Of course one of the best features is the tabs now available for different web pages. I found it a nuisance to restart IE6 everytime I wanted to retain the previous webpage.
