Where can I get the Microsoft office software the cheapest? I need the word processor, Excel, Outlook. Not necessarily PowerPoint but it might be helpful. Already have a stand-alone version of Access.

I know there are some free programs out there but I have a lot of commands for the Microsoft Office programs. I would like to continue using them. Or is there more programs that are compatible with that are cheaper that will be worth rewriting my voice recognition commands. Dragon NaturallySpeaking works well with the Microsoft version. Not sure about the others.

Hi, Heath.

I did a Froogle (http://froogle.google.com/froogle?hl=en&q=Microsoft%20office%20&btnG=Google+Search&sa=N&tab=wf) search and CompUSA has MicroSoft Office for $149. You will need a student ID. I still have mine from college and grad school, so this shouldn't be a problem. Open Office (http://www.openoffice.org/) has all the same functions as MS Office, along with ABiWord (http://www.abisource.com/reviews/) and both these programs are Free.

I forgot to mention that Microsoft Office 2007 (http://www.microsoft.com/office/preview/info/pricing.mspx) should be coming out at the end of January, and therefore the price of Office 2003 should drop. Right now Office 2007 (http://www.microsoft.com/office/preview/beta/getthebeta.mspx) is in RC2, and I think Microsoft charges $1.50 for downloading/Beta testing.
