Normally if I download a program or open a link to a video, I get a fair download box come up with open save cancel buttons in it. If I do the same on my other computer, I only have a save and cancel buttons in the box. I cannot find out why this is happening. I have gone into Internet options but cannot see anything that corresponds to this. Sometimes I don't always want to save something, if I want to view a video, I can't at the moment because I can only save, I don't have the open option. Anybody got any ideas?

It could be in the file association is off. I had this with a power point file, and manually added the file association using: Folder Optiions... File Type... New
And follow the instructions.

Another possibility is that you may not have the appropriate video player on the computer.

You may want to try downloading all possible FIrefox or IE video plugins. If there is no plugin, it may give u the save option =)

I will have a go. On my other three computers, no box comes up, Windows media opens up and the video starts playing after a short while, or straight away if you have already watched it. On this computer the box opens up when you actually see the download speed. I don't suppose it really matters, just wondering why it does it
