I use a mouthstick to cruise around my computer, so i rely solely on my keyboard.

I've been using Gnome desktop under Fedora Core 5, as well as XP, and found that software developers for both seem to incorporate full keyboard navigation, and mac developers don't.

I just got myself a 24" imac, and thought it would be a give-in that OSX would be the leader in accessabilty, but no... it's as if mac developers laugh and think 'oh everyone has a mouse attatched', but don't think about the people [i]inable[/].... even the OS itself is harder to navigate around..

Apparently Leopard will have better keyboard navigation, here's hoping...

there actually is quite a bit of keyboard navigation on the mac...it took me a LONG time to figure it out(primarily b/c I was too stubborn to ask my Mac Genious/Addict friends)...If you post a list of the things in particular you are trying to navigate, we can help you....the MAJOR thing to remember is that the "Apple" key is used in most instances where the "control" key on a Windoze machine would be...

Okay..
Remembering i have stickykeys activated, so i only press one key at a time...
In XP in say, Photoshop, you'll go Alt, then F, then W... File has an underlined F, making it a hotkey, and Save for Web has the W underlined. 3 key presses.

Mac, i have to go Ctrl, F2 (to access menubar), right arrow key twice to get to File, down arrow 11 times to get to save for web, Retun. 16 key presses. There are no hotkeys in menu items- both XP and Linux (KDE and Gnome) have this..

Finder- very hard to nav around. Cannot access left pane by keyboard at all.

Dropdown lists in applications/preferences. Cannot access these at all most of the time, need a mouse..

The list goes on...

Apple haven't got anything like this (http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnacc/html/ATG_KeyboardShortcuts.asp) (Microsoft's guidelines for keyboard navigation for developers). This day and age, the massive focus on accessability and technology, Macs are lacking to say the least. There's plenty of shortcuts, i know- but that isn't the problem.
