View Full Version : How often do you visit this forum?

I ask because I find myself socializing more in other forums, that are not SCI related, more than I do here, so I barely visit. However, I do see a lot of regulars whenever I visit which makes me pose the question "how often do you visit this forum?".

Are there any others you spend time in?

I think I make my way around most forums.

If there is a thread topic which sounds interesting, I check it out, give it a read. The forum doesn't matter as much as content.

I tend to avoid the pain forum. While I'll read or post in a few threads there, it's my least favorite forum. While I have constant pain, it seems the more I actively think about it or read posts by others who are discussing it, the more I experience pain.

Perhaps it's a type of avoidance, but it works best for me.

BTW, welcome to Life. Hope you'll visit again soon. :)

I tend to go to the life or members forum.....I read most all of them. I have made some great friends here.

As you can tell by my join date and number of posts, I'm not frequent. I read more than I comment, but this is pretty much the only place I'm at.

i visit everynight even if i don't post. i could have made lots of lots of friends if i would have followed up. but my injury was new, i was depressed, i was going through a 12 year breakup, and veven if everyone told me it was ok or i'd be better off, it didn't make it hurrt less. and i just keep hanging on. because of love. i can't bear the thought of never seeing him again, so i keep denying the facts. i feel like i'd rather be dead.
on the other hand, i work like hell in o/t and p/t because i know i won't have the money to keep the house. and i WILL end up in a nursing home.MY BIGGEST FEAR. and i wan't to be as independent as possible as c-6 complete can be.
i almost fell in love here on C.C. and i care about the people here. i guess i just vent more than make friends. that is somethming i'd like to change. but when i do give support or advice, i mean it with my whole heart, mind and soul.

I visit CC every day.

I mainly read and post in the Life forum, but I read several others. The one I participate in/read least is the Caregiving forum.

CC is the website I visit and interact with the most. That's because CC has many great people, who have provided me with help, advice and friendship in the 17 months I have been a member. :)

I just read the new posts. I have made no friends on here. What's wrong with this world today?

I share your fears kickinglamb. this is a life no one should have to live.

kkmay, WHAT!? by your post counts, it would seem you have tons of friends in here.

I log on here a couple of times a day. I've got memberships at other SCI forums that I don't visit at all, and I'm a member at other non-SCI boards that I also visit several times a day

Sometimes I'm here several times a day SOmetimes I miss a few days or more. Just depends. I mainly just read new posts and see what sounds interesting. Seems I'm in the life forum the most though.

Everyone here has been helpful. I've only had one or two bad things. So I'd say I've made friends. No one I'm particularly close to but it's nice to know people all over so if I ever get to travel maybe I'd have an accessible place to crash once in a while.

I tend to logon in spurts, maybe five days in a row and then off for 12 days. I would imagine your survey will be skewed since people who do not log in often obviously will not be voting nearly as often as those who log in frequently.

I mainly read the medical information in this forum. Trying to understanding
the physical and mental challenges that one struggles with.
I am trying to be supportive to a loved one who is overly depressed.

But, as I look deeper into this forum it has a wide spectrum of view and
comments which is very interesting.

I am on this forum 5 days a week

Daily here unless life mandates otherwise (e.g. hospital visits, out of town etc). I post 95% in life or caregiving. I gave up on R & S a long time ago after getting the s**t beat outta me over there for several years on end! So I stay in my cozy little areas now and everything is ok now. :)

Too much ... like the news I check in, in the morning and the evening. If I have a day off from work it tends to be less. I think my priorities are backwards there ... :D

Way too much lately. I actually DO have a life...just not much of one at the moment. Clean house, pay bills, go to doctor's appointments, a 20 minute workout, leaves me too much time for Carecure.

I'm not active on other sites. I read gofugyourself religiously.

I have made AWESOME friends on Carecure. Some come and go but some I really believe are forever. Part of the difference is when you meet, you find out if you'll click, and I've met a lot of Carecurers. A couple I've never met, they never or rarely post any more, but still forever.

How much I"m here has varied a great deal in the past, and will in the future I"m sure. Right now, I'm here generally once or twice a day.

There is only one other forum I've participated in - it's for caregivers of the elderly. I don't go there as often now because sometimes it brings back tough memories for me of my parents, but the people there are great and I've made close friends, two of whom I've been fortunate enough to meet and who I believe will be forever friends.

Maybe someday we'll get to meet someone from CC. I think it helps tremendously to meet Internet friends. You get to see they are real people.
