Dear Friends,

My name is Frank La Macchia. I am a T6 complete paraplegic who lives in Philly. I was in a motorcycle accident in December of 1998.

In November of 2004, a committee and I started the Philadelphia Chapter of The Buoniconti Fund. As many of you know, The Buoniconti Fund is the strong fund raising arm of The Miami Project in Florida.

The Philadelphia Chapter of The Buoniconti Fund hosted the First Annual Raise A Glass For A Cure fund raiser on November 18th, 2004 in Beautiful Old City Philadelphia. We raised more than $55,000 in support of ongoing research at The Miami Project. On November 17th, 2005, we hosted our The Second Annual Raise A Glass For A Cure, which was held at the Horticultural Center in Fairmont Park in Philadelphia. The Philadelphia Chapter raised an astonishing $125,000.

The Third Annual Raise A Glass For A Cure is November 16th. The event is being held at Citizens Bank Park (Home of the Philadelphia Phillies).

I'm reaching out for supporters in the Philadelphia and Tri State area of NJ, DE, PA to help assist and support this initiative.

We are looking for sponsors and contributors for the event. If you are interested in attending, sponsoring or contributing to this initiative, please let me know.

Information and photos from last year's event can be found on my website www.frankiescorner.com.

The Miami Project is determined to find a cure for paralysis. Just as the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation and other organizations are trying to meet the same goal.

It anyone has any resources or contacts that can help sponsor, assist or even help with the publications of this event, please have them contact me or please point me in their direction.

As over 400,000 Americans living with disabilities know, we all dream for the day when there will be a cure for paralysis. Through research, that dream can become a reality.

For more information about the Miami Project, see the web site

For information about the Philadelphia Chapter and our initiatives, please contact Sally Woolf at 610-356-3252 or Frankie La Macchia at lamacchia@email.chop.edu or www.frankiescorner.com

On behalf of The Philadelphia Chapter of The Buoniconti Fund, we thank you for your time and interest in this matter.

Sincerely,
Frank La Macchia

It is a discussion forum and people only visit certain forums. Who knows who looks for what and where. It's not like I'm selling a car or a house. I'm trying to reach out to people who are hoping to one day be back on their feet.

I see you edited out the "worthwhile" comment......

I am not the forum police and I can post whether or not it is worthwhile to you.......

Good luck in your endeavor.

Frankie, it's Joe from Riverfront. Good to see you found us man!
I haven't been in to use the FES in about a month due to being hospitalized
for a UTI. I'd like to come to the event if I am feeling well.
Is it possible to buy a ticket? Is Earl going so maybe I could sit with someone I know? Hope to see you at Magee soon!
