I seem to have some pain like feeling that starts from the back of my thigh and goes down to the sole of my right foot. This occurs when I sit in my chair. I use a high profile Roho cushion. I don´t know how I got it, and it is only in my right leg. When I lay on my stomach or side it´s gone. It also goes away when I stand, so I don´t think it´s a disk or back problem. I´m wondering what can be done if my sciatic nerve is being compressed somehow. My PT was massaging the back of my thigh down to the back of the knee and my leg was spazzing out as if it was reacting to pain. I have near normal muscle mass on my legs, but I do weigh over 100 kilos (6´2") so I wonder if body weight plays a factor. This just started up about 3 weeks ago, then it went away, but now its back again.

It certainly sounds as if it could be a sciatic nerve compression that is aggravated with sitting. Since it is a new occurrence, have you discussed it with your MD? He/she may need to do a new evaluation which possibly includes an xray/MRI, etc. Also, I am assuming your PT has looked at how you are sitting on your cushion or in your chair. Is the high profile Roho cushion fairly new? An increase in weight also could be an aggravating factor. PLG
