Dueling sports photos kicked off the trial of a former Portland TV anchorman who is suing Oregon Health & Science University for what he describes as a botched back surgery.
Ken Ackerman claims two OHSU physicians caused him to be partially paralyzed after back surgery in 2003. He says he has never completely recovered.
During opening arguments Tuesday before Multnomah County Circuit Judge Michael Marcus, jurors watched a video of Ackerman water-skiing and rock-climbing, set to the Kenny Loggins song, "Danger Zone."
