Is there a way to winterize an existing wheelchair? Like put somesort of covers on current wheels? Or do you have to buy a new wheelchair?
I used my tracer sx5 last winter but I didn't go any distance alone. I think I'll move a little more this year? Any tips.

You can buy new wheels with mountainbike tires. They are better for snow but I do not know if they are working for ice.

Camille, talk to your local dealer about some mountain bike tires for the back and 5 inch caster for the front. I use a Quickie XTR with 24 x 2 Mountain bike tires, for outdoor activities, and it is absolutely awesome in about 3 - 4 inches of snow (much deeper and the casters start to dig in). The tires also really help for rolling/climbing up packed snow.
I see that you live in PA, where about? I live outside of Harrisburg, PA.
