I am in constant and chronic pain, I am currently taking Methadone 10mg. and that was prescribed by a pain specialist here in Mtn.Home,Ar. It has not been giving much relief and the relief I do get does not last long, an hour and a half at the most. I would like to participate in any case studies that would help me out regarding my pain and my spinal cord injury, but either one would work. I hope to hear from someone soon on this because quite frankly I am tired of hurting.

Hi Hanksanchez79,
The obvious question is what type of pain do you have? All the narcotics in the world won't help with neuropathic pain. Have you tried any drugs like Elavil, Neurontin (gabapentin), Lyrica or Topamax for neuropathic pain?
I have a severe stabbing pain in my liver area (got it after 23 years post SCI) and opioids like oxycodone etc made it even worse... I guess by taking away all my other little aches and pains so that I focused soley on the stabbing pain in my right side. I started on Neurontin (gabapentin) and the pain is practically gone. Sometimes it's 100% gone. I've had to increase my dosage to 400mgs x 5 times a day but am relatively pain free now. The max dose recommended is 3800mgs a day but some people have gone WAY higher than that. But start out slow and hope for the best.
And now you're gonna tell me that you already tried it and that it doesn't work for ya! :)
Good luck.
