good day.
my name is hagit iancu and i am a 27 years old female & a mother of a one years old boy.
the reason why i am writting to you is that i have a problem.
i am sitting on a wheel chair for 4 years & the doctors in israel dont know what is the reason.
the test that i have past are:
M.R.I - that came clean
E.M.G- that came alimited result.
LP - the doctor as lost the test.
i am suffering from insensateness in my lower part of the body, & motionlessness also in my lower part of the body. i'm suffering from a problem in my bladder that i am lack of control on my urine & therefore i am using diapers.
i am a young women that looking for help to know why i am not able to walk or feel my lower part.
and olso looking for a hope that i will be able to walk again.
i dont mind to fly out of israel, and olso i dont mind to be a part of a research.
please help me.
i am begging for help or information that can help me.

First you need a definitive diagnosis. Try printing out something from here: http://www.myelitis.org/abouttm.htm and taking it to your doctor. How did you first become paralyzed? Was it a sudden onset?

Hi Hagit from the US (Connecticut to be exact)-

You sound like me...I have what is called Primary Lateral Sclerosis...which is a brain and a spinal disease which is degenerative. My tests came back the same as yours...so there was a lot of talk from the doctors that said it was in my head or that I was just purely faking it. I am the only one who has to live with this body...so I knew what I had to deal with on a regular basis. No way this crap is in my head. I was 2 months away from my black belt test in Martial Arts when I had to stop because my lack of balance was so bad. That was 4 years ago. Now, I am in the chair for most of my day...the only time I am walking at all is with my braces (articulating Ankle Foot Orthodics) and crutches. My point is you need to uncover a lot of frog doctors before you find that one that is willing to think outside of the box to find your diagnosis.

Once you find that doctor...not only will you have the diagnosis but you will also have that piece of mind of knowing what your outcome will be. For me...no one could tell me if I was going to live or die. Just knowing what I have was a relief to me.

I agree with lynnifer. Get a diagnosis...find that one doctor that will be willing to think outside of the box...

Hi Hagit, when I read your post my heart went out to you as I understand how frustrating and powerless you can feel as a condition seems to take over your body and nobody, as well as yourself, understands why, please persevere with going to the medical people, as they will get to the bottom of what is wrong with you and then at least you will know what it is, and then be able to find ways of coping.
