New iMac

Ok, a little help here please. If anyone has a newer Mac with the built in cam I am wondering how I can get the video to work in our A/V Chat. When I login to the chat and click on the settings under my avatar, it gives me the option to allow or deny my computer's audio-visual to be accessed. I click allow, return to the chat and click on the video option below my avatar but it does not display. I've explored the My Preferences application but find no other way to let the video display. I am sure there is something simple for making this work but in that I have just changed from PC to a Mac, I could use some help.

BTW, this machine is waaaay cool, fast, and I feel like I am on a trail into a wonderful forest I've never visited before. Now, if I can just get the video to work in chat.

Did you get it to work? In the Video Menu (File, Edit, Buddies, View, VIDEO ...), do you have Camera Enabled checked?

I am ONLY guessing....but since the camera that is built in is an iSight...when you choose the options on the chat, you might need to change the option to iSight, versus "built in" or "on board". I don't know for sure, this is only a guess...My iSight is NOT built in, I bought it seperately and plug in via FireWire.

I'm SOOOO glad you're enjoying your new computer. :D and have already learned to love the world of MAC :D:D:D....hopefully Jadis or CSpanos will be able to answer with a concrete answer later...but I am just guessing as to a possible option....

This evening the A/V works! I did not login but instead just entered as a guest with my name. I clicked the video and it worked. Then I enjoyed a friendly conversation with azzurra88 who lives in Australia.
