Going on MySpace seems to install spyware on my computer.
It's is got rid of by anti-spyware, but the next visit to MySpace, I get more.

Is it to do with those WinFixer pop-ups that seem to come up whenever I view anyone's blog?
They throw up about 8 windows that need to be shut.

Is there any way to stop this keeping happening?

it's probably existing spyware being triggered by myspace somehow.

FYI: get a mac & all your problems will disappear. :)

Hadn't thought of using Firefox. We have it, but just use AOL.

Just tried it, and I like the lay out (bigger page). Got to update some stuff though. I just looked at my MySpace page with Firefox, and my music player won't work unless I install some missing plugins.

Scott - don't think the spyware is sitting on the computer. I think it's new ones coming in through Myspace.

jayday - not going to myspace is unthinkable to me. :)

rollin64 - I haven't had this problem with any other website I visit. Myspace seems to be a minefield of problems.

I've go not idea what Shaun is on about. :p

Yep i'd have to second that myspace isn't causing your problems. I use firefox mainly but i've also used internet explorer to check and still no pop ups. And i've had myspace for about 2 years.

myspace is RIDDLED with spyware, but if you use firefox, you should be pretty safe.

Unfortunately, WINFIXER (http://forums.spywareinfo.com/index.php?showtopic=66538&mode=threaded&pid=352622) goes on a lot easier than it comes off.

Been using Firefox -and so far, no problems with Myspace. I found the main problem to be when viewing blogs, and especially posting comments on them. As soon as I'd click post reply, up would pop winfixer. But that hasn't happened (yet...) with Firefox.
Got the plug-ins needed to hear people's myspace music too.

PN - thanks for links. Very interesting. I didn't know that Winfixer was so well-known and problematic for a lot of people.
