I was wondering if there would be any negative effects from sleeping on just one side for a prolonged period of time. Ten years, for example. If pressure isn't an issue, that is. I'm thinking urinary tract, spine. I don't require turning at night, and I've always found my left side to be comfortable. I'm C5/6.

It is better to vary your position for lung and kidney drainage as well as for pressure relief.

Thanks, KLD. I was afraid you might say that. I'm very careful with my skin and check for redness twice daily. I've never had a problem with pressure from sleeping on just one side (air mattress and lots of pillows for proper positioning). But since I drink a lot of water before bedtime, I've become concerned that I might be affecting my kidneys in some way (no evidence of this, just my speculation).
