I need some answers or information regarding Denti-Cal. I already have Medi-Cal and Medicare and I receive around $700 a month from SSI. I saw my dentist this week and I need three thousand dollars to have three teeth capped and have one tooth extraction. My dentist knows my situation and he is reducing the bill down five hundred dollars. The dental hygienist will make me a mouth guard at no charge. Is there any way I can submit the bill to Denti-Cal and get some reimbursement? My dentist does not work with Denti-Cal.

No, the dentist (or physician) must already be signed up with Denti-Cal to get this paid for. If they are not, then it is private pay. Ask your dentist for a referral to a colleague who can do this work and has a Denti-Cal contract, or contact your local Denti-Cal office for a referral to a contracted dentist.

You can get some information at the Med-Cal web site: http://www.medi-cal.ca.gov/

If you know someone in my area, can you please send me an e-mail with his or her name and phone number?

Thanks, Paul
