I'm sure it's been addressed... What's the best mic for a laptop running dragon 8?

Is this the latest version.
Money isn't a factor as the info is for a work grant I'm doing.

It might be best to get the kind that hooks behind your ear and the mike is in front of your mouth, or even a headset with built in mike that does the same...soon you don't even know it's there and you can use your hands for other things, injury level permitting.

As far as brands, they all pretty much work well. Logitech makes good ones, I've used their brand in the past.

I've got a logitech usb headset mic, it's very good. I just bought an Andrea Soundmax superbeam, little desktop mic, sits snuggly on top of my lcd screen. It's bloody impressive and no cords or headset to fight with. I love it.

I use the CS 50 USB microphone by Plantronics. It is pricey at about $300, but has excellent sound quality and noise cancellation, and the best part is that it is wireless. Below is the Plantronics web site which you can buy it from, but you can find it cheaper if you search Google (froogal).

I also have a Sennheiser that I use at work (they won't allow me to use a wireless mic for security reasons) which works fairly well. I really like that goes around the back of my head instead of on top (I have to keep my hair looking nice :-). This particular headset can be used as either a USB microphone or a can plug directly into your analog mic headset. Plus, it has a regular set of headphones attached if you want to listen to music as well.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Cheers, J.
