Don't first person shooter video games for computers rule? I mean i liked them a little bit before injury. BUt due to lack of fast mobility they give you a good artificial reality of being able bodied.
With the graphics and video cards these days, they are getting so realistic. I find myself forgetting all the time i am a T5.
But i am only 1 1/2 years post. i still always forget i am a cripple in public outtings. Does that happen to you guys often?

Ya, I loved Descent 3. The graphics were amazing at the time. I used to be a big time counterstrike addict but now my fingers don't work. I can't compete. :(
I can play most shooters single player on easy mode, but it get's frustrating.
i've almost fallen off the couch a few times, i forget i can't just get up. same thing with my chair when i'm reaching for something.;) i'm slick like that
i'm addicted to GUILD WARS, video games are definitely a bit of an escape

I play Halo for the pc online all the time and I do pretty good. I'm a C5-6 with no finger movement.

I'm a c5 and just can't seem to get anything going for 1st person shooters. I wish I could play Postal and GTA. What setups do others use joystick/gamepad/mouse/kb??? I'd also love to play some of those race car sims but I lack the fine control. There's only so much golf or pacman I can hack.

When i have time I usually stick to strategy based games, like Age of the Empries 3, I do like first person shooters like Quake III, Quake 4 was a dissapointment. I also like playing Battlefield 2, its very realistic, espeically with my alienware and 6800 GT, mmmm. hah. I actually think playing Quake III was therapuic for my bad hand on my left side!

I haven't played Doom III yet, but I loved old school Doom and Doom II, especially in co-op mode over the modem with my cousin late at night. The user-created levels were sometimes better than the original game, particularly the Aliens total conversion. Even with the [now] crappy graphics, Aliens: TC Doom was eerie and suspensful when played late at night with the lights out and wearing headphones. Duke Nukem 3-D was a lot of fun too, but Half-Life rocked even though I usually played it solo. I have Return to Castle Wolfenstein on my Mac, and it's cool but I've barely played it, or any computer games, for years.
I do prefer first-person shooters.
I cut my teeth on Wolfenstein, and then got the editor and did crazy modifications of the graphics until it made the whole game freeze up from too much craziness. I was a Counter-Strike addict too, though I haven't played in quite a while. I would like to play again but I have a ton of important stuff that I need to see about first. I just don't have the time for entertaining diversions like I used to.

i haven't played quake 4 yet. But out of all the first person shoters i've played doom3 can freak you out and make you jump. Play it late at night and you'll understand quickly what i mean.
no movies or other games have ever made me jump & doom3 can do it.
