Ok, I am wanting to do pullups and not on an seated assist machine. My problem is that when I wrap a belt around my waist to "attach" myself to the wheelchair and pullup the front end of the wheelchair dips and goes underneath me (therefore limiting me to 1 pullup). My abs arent strong enough to hold the wheelchair from tilting like that in the air (Im T10).
I was just curious if anyone else does pullups in their wheelchair and how you go about doing them so the chair doesnt go underneath you.
Thanks in advance,
-Jeff.

when I want to work my lats I simply transfer onto a lat pulldowm machine and use a strap and foam blocks to keep my knees in place .once I am in place I can train by myself and go quite heavy without getting out of position.( I can provide some pics ,if that would help)

Thanks for the reply. I have a weight machine and I do like you said, transfer over and strap myself down. I have also transferred to a flat bench strapped my legs down and down pullovers for lats also.
But I was just curious if anyone has a way that they can do pullups/chinups from their wheelchair.
Thanks in advance,
-Jeff.

i do them, but i also have more leg return which will stabalize me, I don't see how your wheelchair is doing as you say, do u have it locked? and if so, why does it still tilt once u pull urself up? I'm not picturing the problem correctly.
