I consider myself a puter whiz...but for some reason could never get an avatar to size required here of any QUALITY. So for a short story, I found free software that makes it a snap to make a HIGH QUALITY avatar from your photos in a click. It's called avatar sizer, go figger'. Those Brit's are useful chaps.

I used IRFANVIEW www.irfanview.com to crop and resize, resample the original photo from over 3008 x 2000( about 42 x 21 inches) to 1024 x 768 and under 250k. Another one click operation. It's a super program in it's own right, used it since 98, free also.
Anyway, checkim' out, both are SMALL programs, irfanview will play /show most files if ya download and install it's plugins.
BTW, the OPERA browser, runs rings around firefox and any other, AND you can control IT with YOUR VOICE!! Take THAT all ewe sl0ppy browsers. It is also free www.opera.com been using it for 5 yrs now.
