Does anyone know anything about arthritic spines?
My mum who isnt even 50 yet was told by the Dr she has an arthritic spie. All she was told to do was to exercise at the gym to strengthen muscles around spine.
She has pains on both arms and even pins and needles wher she cant lift things and has no strength in hands.
Please please any genuine advice would be appreciated

Has she seen a spinal specialist? Is she taking any meds (or tried any that didn't work) to deal with the pain? Has she sought any other treatment such as PT?

The best advise I can give you, is to make an appointment with an Osteopath ASAP as they are qualified in dislocated and / or pinched nerve.
If you wish to view my Web Site for different cures, treatments and remedies at: " http://ca.geocities.com/painlessjoe/ ".

what kind of arthritis does she have? I am guessing osteo since she's 50?
I've had arthritis since I was 14. Is she taking any anti-inflammatories or any medications? Where do you live? (I've found climate irritates mine.) I've also found that high levels of yeast in the body also makes arthritis more painful.
Exercise is very important - it helps keep the bones healthy. Also, tell her to be aware of body mechanics and maintain good posture, because trying to protect herself from pain and having poor posture will lead to formation of bone spurs.

When I complained about pain in my hips, knees, legs and toes, I was diagnosed with arthritis by an idiot doctor, also. It's the easy diagnosis when one nears 50. He said something like, "What do you expect? You're aging." That really ticked me off! No one else I knew my age experienced the same symptoms. I was used to walking a brisk 12/13 minute mile several times a week. I did yoga. My work required lifting and moving heavy material. I stayed in shape! Then I started limping, and my balance was off. I started to fall, splat, on my face when my right leg forgot to move forward with my stride.
That's when I found a new doctor. She investigated a diagnosis like Sherlock Holmes did a murder case. Finally, after countless tests and MRIs, a tumor was found in my spinal cord at T 6/7.
Ask Mum to please find a doctor who will take her complaints seriously, and thoroughly investigate her spine. The pain, accompanied by pins and needles, needs to be investigated.
