I noticed today that my posture is terrible. I caught a glimpse of myself in a mirror and noticed I am hunched forward when I'm pushing. Is there anything I can do for this other than trying to make a conscious effort not to lean forward? I look awful!
Maureen,
I have attached a link to a good article by a seating specialist. Hope this helps.

My posture sucks, and it's probably too late to do much about it. I wish that article was around 25 years ago.

Thanks for the article. I need to see a seating specialist anyway so I printed it out and will take it to my appointment. I know my chair back is at the wrong angle. Funny how posture is something that was never even talked about at my rehab. Hopefully I can do something to correct it! Thanks again.

I try to sit as up right and straight as possible without fallin over. The one thing i hate is being all curled up or mis-aligned.

ive noticed since i got this new chair that having a lower backrest and keeping it as close to straight up as possible has really helped my posture plus my back dont hurt as much. :)
Even with my corset on, I'm bent somewhat like this parenthese here (, plus the right side of my torso is torqued forward, probably caused by my constantly hooking the left push handle of my wheechair to keep from falling in the early months of my injury when my scoliosis was developing. I have trouble reaching things (even this typing is very difficult, and made harder by my back pain, so I don't type nearly as much as I used to - today is an exception, and my back will tell me so), and I always feel like I'm falling sideways. It really stinks.

MANY THANKS for that article on seating!! I've wondered about the sback height for my chairs also. I have what I call 'chicken neck' posture in mine, lol.
Gonna drop that back first chance I get!
