Hi,
Lately I've been having really bad hip pain on my right side. It got so bad that I had to go to the ER once several weeks ago. They took x-rays and everything was in the right place. The Dr. said it was just a hip cramp and gave me and RX for valium. The Valium helps, but my hip still rolls out to the right and is hurting more and more. The area of pain seems to be extending into the right side of my middle as well. I know its good that Im feeling this but it worries me Is this common or should I be going for a second opinion?

Dont know if it is the same as yours. I get it in both side of my hip bone. It kind of alternates and is like a sharp shock. Worse at times. Only seems to be noticeable at night when I lay down for bed. I can get in the bed during the day tired as hell and take a nap and no pain and good sleep. But when its really time to cut some ZZZ's ouch theres the hip pain. I can take pain meds and it masks the pain but then cant go to sleep. Maybe it will go away with time like it came.

Are you incomplete? Did they cut a chunk out of your hipbone to stabilize your neck with?

Mine hurts all the time too.

If I were you I wouldn't go just on the word of an ER doc. Get yourself to an orthopedist and see what he has to say. See if you can get copies of your ER x-rays to take with you so those don't have to be done over again.

You do need a 2nd opinion, David is right. It could be HO or something. (HO = heterotropic ossification). Welcome to the new world of worrying about bizarre crap you never heard of pre-sci.

Im Complete, my bone wasn't cut. My Chiropractor says its "out of whack" but im not sure exactly what that means. My pelvis is slightly crooked too.

Have your dr check for ilio tibial band (ITB) syndrome. Apparently it's very often misdiagnosed. This happened to my fiance, who has had hip pain for years. It's a common runner's injury, but not uncommon for people in wheelchairs.
