Paralyzed mom to be honored at golf outing
GRAND LEDGE - Frienda and family of a mother afflicted by a rare spinal chord disease are organizing a charity event to honor the woman.
Rebecca Judd was an active mother who worked as a manager in a department store and was a cheerleading coach in Grand Ledge until she became a paralyzed from the chest down almost overnight on Mother's Day this year.

Judd, afflicted by a spinal chord disease called transverse myelitis, has been undergoing physical therapy at Sparrow Hospital for several weeks.

Rebecca, 29, and her husband Mike have a 17-month-old daughter, Mia and a son, Travis, who was born a month before she became paralyzed by the disease.

Her friends and family are sponsoring a fund-raiser golf outing at the Grand Ledge Country Club on Sept. 24.
