These look great! While the life action gloves are great if you have help to apply all the velcro straps, these look like you can do it yourself.

We live in Amish country, he had a saddle shop make them. They looked easy to make. Its an oversized mitton with velcro at the wrist and at the other end so that once it doubles over it is wrapped again at the wrist. If you cant find someone to make them let me know. I'm sure we can come up with something to get you a pair made up.

These would also be good for use with a stationary handcycle. My hands are flacid and slip out of the tri-pin easily, so I had to make my own device to give me grip. These gloves look really nice, though, and would put less strain on my wrists.

We've been told these are the way to go (c6-c7)

i'm a c7 quad and need attaching gloves for pulling movements, i wear regular bike gloves which pad the palms. i use cuffs like the ones pictured below that have hooks and wrap around the forearm. i think these are better than fist closing cuffs for several reasons:
1. it's easier to get into and out of the bar or cable since the hoks just pop off, the other ones need to wrap around one, then the other while trying to stabilize the load. this is very helpful when doing sets
2. i prefer to keep heavy pulling loads off my fingers which are of no use anyway and could create problems
3. by placing the pull force lower than the wrist i can do much more without the pain i was having from pulling on the wrist, thumb and finger joints
my cuffs look like those here with hooks, to further protect my arms, i have 2 thick leather (saddle shop) wraps lined with sheepskin and with velcro closures that go under the hook cuffs.
i've never seen any other hooks since mine i got years ago, where were these obtained?

BiGFiTNESS.com will have these, but some sport stores also have them for able- bodied folk with weak wrists.
I found them at that site by entering hook in search. Do the gloves and hooks come together?

The "gloves" (heavy canvas straps which probably need padding underneath) and hooks come together. We've used the gloves once. They are easy to get on althgough a little stiff in the beginning. You slide the strap through a flat loop and velcro. He can use the hooks to set the abdominal twisting equipment. The hooks may need to be widened for the hand cycle and bicep curl. We will try the free weights today. They greatly improve your chances for help at the gym. They are not intimidating or cumbersome in appearance.

Well, these hooks are too big and will slide on free wieghts which are not rubber coated. We've been told there is a very similar "glove" which actually grasps the weight so we will look for those. These hooks have greatly reduced application time which makes the workout more fun!

You can buy quad gloves here http://store.accesstr.com/page.cfm/PageID/81
I think they were $50.
I just started using them and they are ok, just need to break them in. On good thing (if you're C5) they have metal wrist support.
I just found some more exspensive ones, but they may work better. Mine are difficult to adjust so I can get a really tight grip.
These don't have wrist support, though.

I believe the product mentioned earier was the "Hooker". It works fine but it has no real wrist support for heavy weight loads.
I found it here: http://www.fitness-equipment.com/acatalog/Fitness_Equipment_Strap_Attachments_299.html

I need gloves for exercising which allow me to hold on with no grip.
Fold over the bar & velcro.
I didn't see them in the links here.
Can someone show me where to get them?

This product is desigend to allow people with limited grip to grip a canoe paddle but I guess it could be used for gripping a weights bar as well:

Hey fuente you might want to clear your browser history. If your wife sees that you were searching for hookers she might get the wrong idea.
The first one might have the best chance of working with quad paws. If any quad uses them with an uppertone for rows please report. I am wondering how tough it is to get them on and closed properly around the wrists and if they fit around the pins on the uppertone well.
I wear my pushing gloves to protect my wrists for rows but the tri-pin still chews them up a bit and causes a bit of tendon looking swelling on the left wrist at times. The hooks might also pull on the wrists so might not be any better depending on pressure distribution.
I used lifting straps for heavy rows or chinups to failure or drop sets before SCI but the type I used needs fingers to wrap them around the bar.

All those hooks need are sticky baseball bat or tennis racket handle tape, wrapped around them to keep them from slipping.
Or the gripping tubes could be made from electricians heat shrink tubing for wire splices to cover the shiny round hooks.

I have been using my Vitagloves for doing rows lately and they work really well. I don't need them for my Vitaglide but they slip down over the single of the tri-pins of the uppertone and let my fingers take some of the weight while the straps around the wrist jam in between the pair of the tri-pins to take the rest. They let me handle more weight and don't chew my wrists up as bad as when they were taking all of the weight and rubbing.
