A couple of months ago I received a notice from the Christopher Reeves Foundation and it said that you can get a FES Bike with Medi-Caid. Does anyone know what company's produce such bike that will accept that insurance?

I own a FES bike and even with a nice documented letter that explains the benefits of the bike written by my PT to my insurance company...they still would NOT buy it. The only type of "exercise" equipment my insurance bought was a standing frame (3 years ago at time of injury).
My church held a fundraiser for me and that's the money I used to purchase my bike. I bought a StimMaster. www.electrologic.com (http://www.electrologic.com)
The only other FES bike place I know of is with the ergys brand. www.musclepower.com (http://www.musclepower.com)

T-Bone,
I spoke with a woman at the StimMaster company about finding a bike in Washington that I could try in order to make sure I could use it. I thought that was the prudent thing to do since they cost as much as a car (over $15,000). Unfortunately, I have not had any luck.
I noticed that you are in Washington also. Have you tried one of the bikes and if so, where?
Thanks
I've also gone through the whole insurance thing to purchase a bike, even going as far as the State Auditor because I thought I was being screwed. It came down to they won't pay for something like this because it is used for exercise. If Medicaid would pony up the cash, it would help alot.
