Dr. Young, I am C4/5, 9 yrs post. Approximately one yr following my injury I had a mishap at an outpatient facility resulting in the fracture of my upper humerus. As a result I was told I could not perform rom on my shoulder for 2 months. As a result I lost much of the rom in the shoulder. To this day I have limited rom in my shoulder. Is there, would there be, especially in the event of a cure, some way to regain the flexibility?

duceno, you should be able to get full range of motion on your shoulder now with appropriate physical therapy. Why wait for the cure? Wise.

Should I expect to be able to regain full flexibility again, or has too much time passed to expect such results. Can damage be done trying to "push" the rom past its current levels?

duceno, it depends on why your range of motion is limited. If it is just a matter of ligaments, physical therapy should do it. If it is a bony problem, you need an orthopedic surgeon to look at it. Wise.
