motrin or ultram? Which is safer?

I recently quit taking the ultram but have been in some pain. Not real bad, but enough to be miserable and have lack of energy to do anything because of it. I started taking 800mg of Motrin a day and it helps, but was concerned about long term use, like stomach issues and such. I really don't want to go back to ultram because of the withdrawals i get when i have a pain free day and try to stop, which one of these drugs is safer for your body long-term?

I wonder if you could alternate Motrin and Tylenol? The Ultram scares me.
