I'm quite concerned about the fact that my pain has really gotten much worse over the last week. In my lower abdomen, upper abdomen, and my back, all places that I already have trouble. However eating and drinking have gotten especially bad. I figure that when one has a UTI it can excaserbate these types of symptoms, right? If so, being that I might have a UTI, what can I do to avoid the the same type of permanently horrific symptoms that I have now from these antibiotics?

Alan, thankyou for your support here on this stuff as I can only imagine how you feel. I've definately had this reaction to Cipro, Levaquin, Vancomycin, & Bactrim. My doctors are talking about the possibility of using an Epidural block and hopefully another less powerful antibiotic that the bug will not be resistant to. I had a block done this summer and it did not completely break the pain cycle, however it did give me substantial relief while I was on it for approximately 72 hours.

Maybe a morphine pump would help you, if the epidural did?
