Dear Acquitaine,

Good survey on personality in CP.

In trying to facilitate emails to support HR 1863, I have found that many elected reps' websites refuse emails from any zipcode not in their jurisdiction.

Is there any way we could still get support letters to these people over the internet, especially the cosponsors of the legislation which were listed here (I think by Calico)?

Many here are unable to get out to post letters and typing on the computer is much easier, and possibly their only viable way to communicate.

Thanks.

Hi Dejerine,

I was worried about you, hadn't seen any post from you for quite a while now, hope you are ok. Thanks for your comments on the survey. About the HR1863 legislation, I think you are refering to calico's post here:

http://carecure.org/forum/showthread.php?t=45191

I'm not sure what you mean though. You tried to send an e-mail for someone else and it was rejected? Was the address that you put on the e-mail his or yours? If it was his, with his zipcode, I don't see why they would reject it. If it was his, and you sent the e-mail and it was rejected, are you saying they reject e-mails by their electronic origin? That doesn't seem likely as my mail server, which is yahoo's, is beyond my reps jurisdiction, and I know my e-mail got through for HR1863. Maybe we should make this an offline posting, then we could talk about who's e-mail was refused, etc, and name names so to speak without anyone seeing names/addresses. I understand very well that many belonging to this forum can communicate much easier by their PC than the written word. I would VERY much like to help in any way I can, I'm just confused at the moment (sorry http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/images/smilies/confused.gif).

Glad to see your posts again!

Aquitaine,

Sorry to be unclear, and I apologize for putting a "c" in your handle. I was thinking of emailing every representative cosponsoring HR1863, but when I tried to email them, the message was rejected, with the site saying they do not accept messages whose zip code (you have to list your zipcode to reach the website dialogue box) is not within the boundaries of the representative's district.

I realize I should be able to look this up, to see if there is a way around the block, but I haven't found any way to get an email to these people without going through their dialogue message box, which then kicks me out and rejects access to the dialogue box used to send any message, because my zipcode is not in their district. Probably not solvable, so I guess I will have to get some stamps. I'm so spoiled I want to do it all over the internet.

I had in mind for all of us to email every cosponsor, but short of snail mail, I can't think of a way to do it. I just wondered if you had any ideas. Hope this isn't a nuisance.

No problem, I understand what you're trying to do now, and I think there may be a way, can you give me a little time to look into it? It will probably take some code to make this happen. Maybe 2-3 days?

Hi Dejerine,

Actually the chris reeves site does this, I've looked at the interface and I think I know how they're doing it. But the code will require installation on a host. Do you have a host that we could install some code on, host type will determine code type http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif.
