I have recently started on neurotin and I'm having problems holding when I have to urinate. At night sometimes I don't even wake up. Has anyone else had this w/neurotin? It has helped w/ the pain but I still have to take the vicodine for my lower back pain.

i was on it for 2years, i had a neurogenic bladder from my injury. the first year i could not pee at all on my own.. after 18months i was voideing alittle on my own on my own , but still had quite a bit of retention , when i stoppped the neurontin, i was able to stop the cathersiating, since my retention was now minimal, it can mess up your bladder, i also found that i retained water so that during the night , my bladder would fill up and over distend, even though i had stopped drinking anything 4 hours previously, the neurontin would store the water in your skin, and at night it feeds into your kidneys/bladders so that may be why u are leaking at night,

my husband is a c5 incomplete and has been taking 2400 mg's of nuerontin a day for 15 months now. it doesn't seem to bother his voiding at all. i stopped cathing him about 4 months ago. he uses a urinal when awake, but he uses a bedside bag at night, since he voids heavy at night. so far so good.
