All I hear is that the vicodin Ive been taking since my back surgery in june of 2000 is causing the constipation.I Had 2 titanium rods and 6 3 inch screws put in my spine with bone snapped off my hips. They are on L-3 L-4 and L-5.I am experiencing the same constipation problems before my surgery.Ive tried all the metamucil,mineral,oil and stool softeners.I was finally given Docusate Sodium which worked after 3 days.My surgery fusion failed and my rods are loose and I need to have surgery again. Why wouldnt any of the doctors Ive seen maybe take a look at my S-1 I looked on the internet and found out that S-1 controls bladder and bowels.Could it be that these rods that are loose are injuring or rubbing on my S-1? I quit taking the vicodin for 3 weeks and suffered with pain and still had constipation and bowel problems. I drink a minimum of 64ozs of water a day. Can anyone give me some feed back or relate? I got rid of the nuerosurgeon that did my surgery and University Of Michigan Hospital In Ann arbor Michigan is gonna give me my first consultation.Anyone have any feed back about this hospital? I hear alot of good things. Thanks
