I really miss diving. I saw on here that a member was paralyzed during diving?Having taken one spinal cord hit, that is about the only fear that could keep me out of the water. My Dr. doesn't know much, says not to go deeper than 40 ft or so. In my former life, that was snorkelling! Brians, if you see this, could you fill me in on your accident? Any other info from anyone? Thanks-Betheny

hi betheny,
i have been diving post sci for over ten years and have never
heard of anyone becoming injured sci until the post here. there is a web site
www.hsascuba.com, (http://www.hsascuba.com,) where you can write to jim, the founder, with your questions and fears. he has been working with disabilites for about thirty years and
is educated in diving with disabilites and teaches dive masters and instructors from all over the world how to buddy up and dive with a person with a disability. he travels a lot so it might take him a while to write back.
i think it will be worth your while to get in touch with him because we do some
awesome diving in all parts of the world. jim always goes ahead a checks each place out before us so that we know first hand that the place is accessible.
i go once a year and i love it. http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/images/smilies/cool.gif
I have dived since my accident and love it! I hope you can get back into it!
