Prior to the wreck, I was involved in alot of sports and I miss it. I was wondering if they made a 4-wheeler type machine that a wheelchair can drive into and be operated from the chair. If so, does anyone have one and how do they like it?

Cowboy, I don't know what your level of injury is. I'm c6-7 post 29 years. Arms are fine. I ride a Polaris 300 4X4 ATV. It has been great to get around to places only a goat would go. Brought back alot of freedom to me, plus it has been a workhorse on our place. I have no problem transfering up on it. If you have upper body you can do this. I use to think of the exact thing you are thinking of, but Polaris is the way to go. You can throw your chair up on the front rack and take it with you. Good luck.

This one you back into but others you approach from the side then the floor rotates to point you forward. I'd really like one but don't have much need for one right now. They're also rather slow compared to conventional ATV's.

I'm amazed that you can ride like that as a C6-7. Did you get full return of your hands?

Jeff, I had full use of hands and arms. They were not affected at all, which I never understood. The level is actually mid chest where pin prick sensation goes away (pain). I feel touch all over and have completely recovered bowel, bladder and the rest of the stuff. I probably had eschemic injury due to loss of blood at time of accident from internal injuries. Dr. said I'd be walking had it not been for the blood loss. I had O pulse when I arrived to ER. Anyway was lucky to live thru it and have fathered boy/girl twins who are now 15 year olds and am real thankful for what I was left with. I was always pretty agile so tranfering around has never been a problem (onto 4 wheeler, or climbing into boats. I'm nearing 50 though, but still feel as agile as I was 20 years ago. So, all you newly injured, just work hard whatever your injury level and keep the faith. BTW, 25 years ago I rode an electrial exercise bike I bought thru Montgomery Wards and rode it for hours daily. Never recovered any motor function, but I still don't have any atrophy in legs. I still feel like I get return of function, but not enough yet to really move legs, but I feel like agressive PT would help bring back some motor function along with 4 AP. Just waiting for FDA approval.

That's kindof what I'm looking for Jeff, but maybe something more agressive. I'm thinking something similar to a Kawasaki Mule. Are there any websites that you know of?
