Helicopter Ride ** recommend going on a helicopter ride in the beginning of your vacation as it gives you a good overview of the island. Try taking the half island tour of East Maui that lasts approximately 45 minutes. This tour includes the stark moon-like surface of Haleakala Crater as well as the O'heo Gulch (better known as Seven Sacred Pools), lush Hana rain forest, and cascading waterfalls. There is a full island tour available, but you get a better deal with this half island tour. Just the helicopter ride itself is a terrific rush. Also, Hawaii Helicopters has a lift to get you inside the helicopter. For more info check this link: http://www.maui.net/~bernhard/adventure_page.html

Just kidding. But I really almost wept when I read about the accommodations--in MAUI!! Sounds wonderful. Wouldn't it be great if traveling sci's started their own time share program for w/c accessible, ADA standardized places?

There was a thread recently posted which included global timeshare accessible trips/travel.

I'm not sure what Forum or thread but you might want to try a search (blue, top of page) and plug in 'timeshare'.

It's out there, just gotta find it.

Onward and Upward!
