Has anyone had any experience with snowmobiles post injury? My husband just puchased a 2002 Arctic Cat AC 4 Stroke. He is T5 Complete, 54 years old and a kind of a big fella so I'm a little nervous about this venture! If anyone has any experiences to share I'd appreciate it! http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif

my husband also has a few snowmobiles and if we would ever get any snow I am sure he would use them more. Jim is T10 and is 1 1/2 years post injury. Last winter we had tons of snow and that was the first time he tried snowmobiling on his own. It went well. We have 80 acres of property and that is were he experimented until he got the hang of it. He has fell off a few times and this can cause some problems if no one is around. Jim has never gone out by himself and I would say no one should especially if they have a SCI. Always bring a cell phone too!!!!

I know several people with thoracic spinal cord injury who have these all-terrain vehicles that they go out on, in the woods, so to speak, often by themselves. It is a way of getting some privacy. Wise.
