I really enjoy power wheelchair off-roading. I would not recommend it for most power chairs but there are several models now that give you the ability to travel the ATV and snowmobile trails. Power wheelchair off-roading is not really a recognized wheelchair sport but I think it will be in the future. I have found the OmegaTrac is reliable and durable for my off-road uses and an absolute blast to off-road with. I live in the Adirondack Mountains region of upstate NY. The area is filled with trails and offers many challenging adventures for powerchair off-roading. You really get some surprised looks from folks on ATV's who find you miles in the woods on rugged mountain trails with a wheelchair.

Bruce, that's great that you're still able to "get out there" beyond the beaten path. Were you into offroading before your SCI?

I've been off-roading since I was 12 and at 40 I still enjoy it.
