My sister's family goes kayaking A LOT every summer. Maybe someday I'll get to go! I live in the land of a million small lakes - could be a good option.

Could look at an english site: www.backuptrust.org.uk (http://www.backuptrust.org.uk) - they specialise in various sports for people with SCI and run a kayak course in North Wales every year - they have developed special paddle grips for quad/tetras who have problems with hand function.
