Hello, I have decided to make $100 pledges to up to the first 100 carecure members who sign up here for the Rally for Cure. In other words, if you sign up here, I will make a $100 pledge in your name to the Rally for Cure.

If you register as a fundraiser for the Rally, you get 2 complimentary tickets to the Rally for Cure. Register at http://www.rallyforthecure.org/ to raise money for the Rally. With my pledge of $100 and whatever else you can raise, you should be able to get two complimentary tickets. All you have to do is to register at the above site with your name, your telephone number and address, the amount of your fundraising goal.

I hope that we can get the maximum number of carecure members, particularly those who live in the area, to come to the Rally. It should be a great night for everybody to see each other.

Please sign up below. The first 100 carecure members will get my pledge. Just indicate your name below and please don't forget to register as a fundraiser at http://www.rallyforthecure.org/

Wise.

Dr Wise I signed up and plan to continue with what I can for fundraising in my community. I donated a 100.00 and singed up for 500.00 worth of pledges. I will not be able to make it to The Rally For The Cure so I hope that my tickets could go to someone that could use them.

I will be there for sure. I hope to get things better organised this week for my fundraisers, gotta get motivated. This is such important stuff. Just think of the feeling we will have if we can beat SCI and know that we all helped out doing it. I already have my reservations at the embassy suites. I will contact Patricia on monday as I have a few questions for her, actually one of my questions maybe you can answer Dr. Young. When people write checks for donations should they be made out to the Keck Center? Or could we possibley organise an account through the keck center called the "Rally for the Cure" account so people could simply make their checks out this way? I would think this would be easiest as in doing advertising for the "Rally for the Cure" this would stick in peoples minds when they went to write their checks and it would be perfectly clear that the checks were going towards cure research.

I am really thinking about organising a "Bike a Thon" on the east bay bike path and this idea of people writing out checks for "the Rally for the Cure" would be quite useful when people went to collect their donated pledges.

I just signed up to raise funds and attend the event. I'm very excited to get to meet some of the (other) amazing, motivated, intelligent members of this forum. Together, we will fix this thing!

This is wonderful! Checks can be made out to Rally for the Cure or to The Spinal Cord Injury Project. There is a special Rally for the Cure Account which can accept checks made out either way. (Either way is tax-deductible, too.)

Thank you all!

Thanks Patricia, I was going to call you to ask this question about making the checks out to "Rally for the Cure", no need to now. That is great.

I am mailing in my form tomorrow, I have had no success in organising the Mr. Clean Car Wash, so I am going to have a "Walk and Roll Athon" on the local bike path which is 28 miles. I hope to raise at least $1500.00.

Bilby,

Thanks so very much! The committee just met to discuss the logistics. Let me see if I can pin down a date and will post it here and in the Cure Forum.

I also want to register for the starter pledge as I am collecting pledges in addition to my fundraiser. I'm starting to collect my pledges, which will be ongoing until the Rally.

Chica, register at http://www.rallyforthecure.org/, say how much you want to raise in your fundraiser. You have my pledge for $200 for you and Jack (since there are two of you who are carecure members).

By the way, if there are more than 100 people who need pledges, I am willing to continue pledging $100 for all people that sign up. I just made up that 100 because it sounded big.

Was there some place to print off forms to hand to people who write checks out when I have the fundraiser? I am having a party next Friday night and I thought maybe I could put a form of some sort on the table for ppl to take. I just thought I read somewhere in here about that.

Hi Wise,

I'm an officially registered fundraiser. Did I make the cut of the first 100?

Regardless, I look forward to seeing you again after 20 years (memory re-jog: you performed an SEP evaluation on me in preparation for a consult I had with Harry Goldsmith back in <gulp> 1984).

Thanks for the kind words, Mary -- most of them, anyway. http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif

I told my 5-year-old son yesterday about the Rally. I told him we were going to go to a party where there will be lots of people in wheelchairs. All he could hear was the word party. Most importantly, he wanted to know if there would be cake! He's food obsessed.

I had my fundraising party last night. I exceeded my goal. We talked about this website and the great people and the potential of the science we are funding. I told them how it all has changed my life so much for the better to be involved in all of this. Then we ate, and drank, and drank, and then I drank a little more. In the hot tub. Now there is beer in it....but it was fun, and then some of my friends slept here because..well, we were drinking in the hot tub til 1. Owwwwwwwww...I really think I am dying....Owww. Go Cure.

Mary.... you used your fundraiser as an excuse for a hot tub drinking party? Shouldn't you have invited at least one sexy SCI guy like me to come help increase donations? LOL. Oh well... sounds like you did very well on your own! http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif

Hi Wise,
I know it's very late notice, but i've signed up for a fundraiser and my husband, Colin and I decided today that we are coming to the rally. It was a tough decision as we are going to have to miss 2 very important family events next weekend, but the more we discuissed it, the more we felt we would regret not going to the rally. I'm particularly excited to meet you and many of the other awesome people I've met on this site.

Thanks,
Sue
