Naturally chocolate ranks as a hearty No. 1 CF, but my other favorite is homemade hash browns with sauteed onions and garlic, sometimes a little bacon, seasoned generously with salt, pepper and a little cayenne, a side order of scrambled eggs, and a big bottle of ketchup and a little bottle of Tabasco.

LOL - I was gonna say bacon and eggs when I saw your question! Sounds yumy to me!

Another would be fried chicken w/gravy and mashed taters.

MASHED POTATOES with butter...oh, and hot fresh bread. Bread is good when the heart hurts.

I also very much like Spaghettios with hot dogs cut up in them. I have switched to turkey franks though...something about the kid food appeal...with a BIG glass of ice cold frothy milk.

Don't ask me why, but when I get depressed, I get a hankerin' for some coleslaw and end up hitting KFC by the end of the day.

My comfort food is something my mother used to make many years ago when I was a child. It is a mixture of mashed potatoes, mashed carrots, and crumbled ground beef, all mixed and mashed together in one big pot/bowl. I eat it with lots of butter and salt on top.

For some reason it always makes me feel more comforted..........and it's delicious!
